Composting Sugarcane Filter Mud with Different Sources Differently Benefits Sweet Maize

Reusing organic wastes in land applications would enhance the recovery of resources, following concepts circular economy. The sugarcane-based sugar industry produces various by-products (e.g., sugarcane filter mud, molasses, and bagasse) that have potential to contribute crop production soil fertility, owing their high contents matter nutrients. Although agricultural benefits compost utilization agriculture been well-documented, best our knowledge, few scientific data are currently available on effects mud combined with application for increasing production. Thus, a field experiment was carried out study how combination two sources, affected growth yield sweet maize (Zea mays var. saccharata). We compared (i) types made from brassica residue household waste applied at rate 9 t ha−1, (ii) rates mud: 0 2 ha−1 controls without any application: one (+SFM) (−SFM) mud. results highlighted all parameters benefited more domestic than straw compost. Moreover, addition further boosted performance. Based above results, we concluded locally composts is feasible approach sustainable maize, combining efficient disposal provision soil.
